Double Island Point

Double Island Point a long stretch of road, plenty of natural scenery and miles of beach to enjoy with a vast array of some very fun waves, that is if you own a 4wd and are in the know with the winds and tides. Yesterday was just one of those days where the crew scored some nice little 3ft waves with all day offshore winds. The day was super warm and sunny, with an esky full of tucker and a car load full of legends the day could only be destined to turn out a pearler.

In the words of Noosa Parks Association: " Double Island Point is one of the most beautiful, unspoilt, semi-wilderness areas on Australia’s east coast. It also has great cultural and historical interest, with the Double Island Point lighthouse standing sentinel on the headland and the lighthouse keepers’ cottages nestled below". Double Island Point is one of those places that as soon as you step on the sand and inhale the solitude you feel instantly refreshed. Double Island Point is not just for surfers but many line it's sandy dunes in campers and tents as a great place to unwind from the pressures of every day life.

After a 5am pickup the search for that perfect bank begun. Between all of us forgetting to bring our sunscreen and Kelly's all day burnouts in the ute, it was a more then entertaining experience. Watch the video we put together below of local surfing talent Jack 'Duggo' Duggan and Kelly Norris. And if you ever get to experience Double Island don't forget to take your surfboard and fishing rod.
